Blind repair · Blind tilt mechanism repair

Blind tilt mechanism repair in Edmonton.

We help Edmonton homes fix horizontal blinds when the tilt stops working. If the wand spins without moving the slats or the tilt feels uneven, we can help. Tell us your symptoms so we can plan the right fix.

Tilting is different from lifting.

Rotating slats and raising the shade are two different actions. If your lift works fine but the tilt is stuck, we focus on the tilt gear.

Let us know if both are acting up so we can help.

Wand issues tell us a lot.

A spinning wand that does not tilt the slats usually means a loose connection or damaged gear. Please keep all the pieces together.

Avoid trying to bend hooks back, as this often just breaks them further.

Uneven slats need a check.

Staggered slats often mean a ladder support is detached. Send us a photo so we can see the alignment.

We will check if it needs a simple adjustment or a new part to get it right.

Service details

Getting your tilt back.

Horizontal blinds make managing light simple. When the tilt gear breaks, the connection to your slats is lost.

We look for clues in how your wand feels to find the exact part you need for your home.

Look closely at how it reacts.

Does the wand feel loose or tight? Do all slats stop moving or just one section?

Sharing these details helps us see if it is a simple connection fix or a deeper internal gear issue for your shade.

  2. 02

    Send us your model details.

A photo of the label helps us find the right gear for your blind. Keep all the original pieces together so we can match them perfectly.

Avoid taking the headrail apart to look for internal parts.

  3. 03

    We check the whole shade.

We look for other issues like frayed ladders or loose brackets while we fix the tilt. This makes sure your shade works reliably for you every day.

We clarify exactly what we will do for you.

What to consider

Where tilt failure happens.

Every tilt system is built differently. The right fix depends on your specific model and how much wear it has seen.

We assess your unique shade to see if a repair will offer long-term performance for you.

Wand and connection.

A broken hook or loose connection stops the wand from turning the slats. Keep all original parts as they help us find a match.

Avoid using glue or tape, as these won't hold under the stress of daily use.

Tilter and gear.

The internal tilter gear rotates your slats. If this part fails, the slats will not move.

We check compatibility before we start your repair.

A closer look

Privacy and everyday value.

A repair should make your home work better for you. We look at the condition of your slats to see if repairing is the best value compared to a new shade.

We help you choose the smartest path.

    Tell us what you need.

Does the tilt fault stop you from enjoying your view or privacy? We assess the repair based on how you use the window.

A fixed tilt brings back original function, though slats will still have small light gaps.

  2. 02

    Handle visible wear carefully.

Cracked or bent slats can be tricky to fix. While we can get the tilt working, new slats might not match the aged finish of the others.

Let us know if that matters to you so we can manage expectations.

  3. 03

    Are they vertical blinds?

Vertical blinds use a different track system to rotate and travel sideways. If your vanes hang vertically, please follow our specific vertical-blind repair guide instead.

We clarify repair costs.

Your quote is based on the specific gear and labor needed for your blind. We don't guess; we assess your unique situation.

This keeps things clear and prevents surprises when we work on your window treatment.

    Size and location help us.

Let us know the approximate width and if the blind is in a hard to reach spot. This helps us know if we need extra ladders or if we need to remove the headrail for your repair.

  2. 02

    Check your parts and timing.

The right tilter must match your exact headrail. If your blind is older, we may need to source specific parts for you.

Please don't count on same-day fixes until we confirm your parts are ready and waiting.

  3. 03

    Finish checks keep you happy.

Vertical blinds use a totally different track system to rotate vanes. If your vanes hang vertically, please use our vertical blind guide instead.

The mechanics are completely different and need a different repair process for your home.

Frequently asked

Why does the wand spin?

The internal gear has likely slipped. The wand is no longer grabbing the mechanism inside. Keep all your wand pieces together and describe the feel of the resistance so we can match the part for you.

Is tilt repair the same as restringing?

No. Tilt is for slat rotation, while restringing is for raising the shade. Sometimes you need both, and we treat them as separate tasks. Let us know if you need both to get your shade back to normal.

Can only part of the blind tilt?

Yes, usually because a ladder support is broken or snagged. This leaves one section stuck while others move. Send us a photo of where it stops and we will see if a simple fix is all you need.

Should I keep twisting?

Please stop. Forcing a stuck wand often breaks the plastic parts or shears the gear inside. It is much cheaper and easier for us to fix if you stop at the first sign of trouble and give us a call.

Does repair make it blackout?

Not really. Tilt repairs just make the rotation work again. Because horizontal blinds have gaps between slats, they aren't true blackout products. We bring back the original function, but the natural light characteristics of the blind will stay the same.

Does any tilter fit?

Definitely not. Tilters are made for specific headrail shapes and rod styles. Generic parts usually don't last long. We need your manufacturer info and a photo to make sure we get the correct fit for your specific blind.
