Window coverings for your next restaurant opening.

Make the windows part of the restaurant—not a decision left until opening day. Morningside works with restaurant groups on drapery, blinds and shades for new locations across Canada. Our experience includes new openings with Joey’s and Canadian Brewhouse, with window treatments chosen for the space and the brand.

A finish that belongs to the brand.

Carry your restaurant’s design through to the windows. We help compare fabrics, shade finishes and hardware with your approved interiors, so a new location feels connected to the group without ignoring the needs of the actual space.

Comfort at the window seats.

Bright storefronts, afternoon sun and evening privacy ask different things of a covering. We discuss the dining room, bar and other guest areas separately, with options that suit the daylight and the atmosphere you want.

Experience with new openings.

Morningside has worked on new restaurant openings across Canada, including projects with Joey’s and Canadian Brewhouse. We bring that experience to the conversation about your next location, its window treatments and the work needed to complete them.

Restaurant openings

Part of the restaurant from the start.

A new opening brings together architecture, interiors, operations and a date everyone is working toward. Window coverings belong in that conversation. We help your restaurant group choose the treatments and define the supply, fabrication and delivery scope while the fit-out is taking shape—not after the dining room is finished.

  1. 01

Start with the location and design.

Share the restaurant concept, plans and the areas needing window coverings. We discuss the brand finishes, daylight and operating preferences with your team. Your designer, contractor or furnishing company can join the conversation so the window treatments fit the wider interior package.

  2. 02

Agree the treatment for each space.

Compare drapery, blinds and shade options against the actual windows. We confirm the selected materials, finished dimensions, hardware and work included in the quote. Where a group has an existing specification, we review how it suits the new location rather than assume every opening is identical.

  3. 03

    Coordinate with the opening project.

We discuss fabrication, delivery and any installation arrangements alongside your project’s timing. Responsibilities and site readiness are agreed with the people managing the fit-out. If the plan changes, the window-covering scope and timing can be reviewed before the order moves ahead.

Restaurant openings

A recognisable brand. A different building.

Keep the look connected while making the coverings work for this location.

Finishes that carry across locations.

A fabric, shade colour or track detail can help connect a new restaurant to an established interior concept. We review those choices with your brand or design team.

The goal is a familiar finish in the new space. If an earlier material is no longer available, alternatives are discussed rather than presented as an exact match.

Windows that vary from site to site.

A street-facing restaurant and a freestanding location can have very different glazing. Orientation, window size and nearby seating affect the right treatment.

We work with the approved dimensions and mounting conditions for the actual site. A repeated design direction does not have to mean the same product on every window.

Choices the project team can approve.

Your group may have a designer, construction lead, franchisee and furnishing company involved in the opening. We discuss who needs to approve the window-treatment choices.

The selected materials and included work are identified in the quote, so the covering package can sit alongside the other finishes without leaving responsibilities unclear.

Restaurant openings

Daylight for lunch. Privacy for the evening.

Choose treatments around the way guests use the room.

Solar shades for bright glazing.

Solar shades can reduce glare while retaining a degree of outward view. Different openness levels change the balance, and they do not provide the same privacy after dark.

We compare fabrics against the daylight and guest seating in your restaurant. Where evening privacy matters, another treatment or an additional layer may be more appropriate.

Explore the options

Roller shades with a simple finish.

Roller shades give large glazing a clean, continuous fabric treatment. Light-filtering and room-darkening choices offer different ways to manage the room’s daylight.

We discuss fabric, controls and the dimensions available for the selected range. A simple look still needs to suit the opening and the way staff will operate the shades.

Explore the options

Drapery that feels part of the interior.

Drapery can frame the dining room, soften the appearance of a bright window or add a fabric layer to the restaurant’s palette. Sheers and lined panels serve different purposes.

Our Edmonton workroom makes custom drapery to the approved design. Fabric, lining and hardware are considered together so the treatment looks finished when open or drawn.

A workroom behind your restaurant design.

Selected fabrics, custom treatments and a clear fabrication scope.

Use your specified fabric.

If your designer or furnishing company has chosen the textile, our Customer’s Own Material service can keep that selection in the project. Approved fabric is shipped to our Edmonton facility for fabrication.

We review the material, lining and intended treatment before confirming the work. The finished order can go to your project partner or directly to the client.

Explore the options

Custom drapery and Roman shades.

Our workroom makes drapery and Roman shades for the agreed openings. Roman shades offer a tailored fabric finish where full-length panels are not the intended look.

We discuss the construction and operation alongside your interiors. The fabrication quote identifies the treatment being made, rather than treating every fabric or window as interchangeable.

Explore the options

Controls that suit the restaurant.

Manual and product-compatible motorized options can be discussed for staff-operated shades or drapery. Larger or hard-to-reach windows may benefit from a different control arrangement.

We review the selected product and any power requirements with your project team. Electrical work and wider control integration are agreed separately where they are needed.

Restaurant openings

One opening—or the next locations in your plan.

Window-covering support for restaurant groups working across Canada.

A scope built around the opening.

Some projects need fabrication from supplied fabric; others need a wider covering package. We discuss the work your restaurant group needs rather than assume every new location uses the same arrangement.

The quote sets out the products and services included. Measuring, hardware and installation responsibilities are agreed with your team for the actual site.

Delivery to the right destination.

Our workroom can deliver finished treatments to your furnishing partner or directly to the client. We confirm the destination and receiving arrangements before the order is sent.

For projects elsewhere in Canada, we agree delivery and any local fitting arrangements with your team. Your quote makes clear which products and services are included for that address.

The next location, considered early.

When more openings are planned, an agreed design direction gives the next conversation a useful starting point. We can discuss preferred treatments and materials alongside the locations in your programme.

Final dimensions, product availability and timing are still reviewed for each site. That keeps the brand intent connected without committing a new restaurant to an unsuitable old specification.

Canada FAQs

Common questions

Answers for homeowners, designers, property managers and builders. Not listed here? Email or call and we will help.

Do you work with restaurant groups opening franchise locations?

Yes. Morningside works with restaurant groups on window treatments for new locations and franchise openings. We discuss drapery, blinds and shades with the group’s design, construction or furnishing team, with the scope agreed for the actual restaurant.

Have you worked on new restaurant openings before?

Yes. Our experience includes new openings across Canada with groups such as Joey’s and Canadian Brewhouse. We can discuss how our window-covering and workroom support fits your next location without assuming its requirements are the same as an earlier project.

Can you support restaurant openings outside Edmonton?

Yes. We have worked on new restaurant openings across Canada. Our drapery and Roman-shade workroom is in Edmonton. Supply, delivery, measuring and any installation arrangements are discussed for the project address so the national scope remains clear.

Can the coverings follow our existing restaurant design?

Yes. Share the approved fabric, finishes and treatment direction with us. We review them against the new location’s windows and current product availability. Where an original material cannot be sourced, an alternative needs your approval; an identical match is not assumed.

What helps reduce glare at restaurant window seats?

Solar or other roller shades may suit bright glazing, depending on the fabric and the daylight at that location. We discuss the view, seating and operating preferences with your team. Solar openness and nighttime privacy are considered separately rather than treated as the same requirement.

Can our designer or furnishing company supply the fabric?

Yes. Your approved fabric can be shipped to our Edmonton facility through our Customer’s Own Material service. We review suitability, quantity and construction, then fabricate the agreed drapery or Roman shades. Delivery can go to your project partner or directly to the client.

Do you offer motorized window coverings for restaurants?

Yes, suitable motorized options can be discussed for the selected blinds, shades or drapery system. Controls, compatibility and any power requirements are reviewed with the project team. Electrical work or wider automation is agreed separately where required.

Can you work with our contractor before the restaurant is finished?

Yes. Plans and design selections help us discuss the covering package during the fit-out. Final sizes, mounting conditions and any installation readiness must be confirmed for production or fitting. We agree the responsibilities with your team so the window work fits the construction scope.

When should we discuss window treatments for a new opening?

During the design or fit-out planning is a good time to begin. We discuss your target opening date alongside material availability, approved dimensions, fabrication and delivery. An early conversation gives the team more opportunity to agree the window-covering scope and a workable project schedule.

How do we request a quote for a new restaurant location?

Use Request a restaurant quote to arrange a conversation with Morningside. Tell us where the restaurant is opening, the design direction and the window treatments you need. Plans or an existing specification are helpful if available, and we will discuss the details needed for the quote.

How To Prepare

Virtual | In-store

To make the most of your consultation, it helps to have a general sense of your window or door width, ceiling height and how you would like the covering to operate. Photos of the space are helpful but not required. If you are early in the process, that is fine. We will guide you through it.
